Visiting Lesotho (18-20 Oct 06)
Been back in South Africa and been quite busy.... got several big events coming up and have been busy churning up reports for that, as well as preparing to go to Lesotho for the POC ceremony.... it would be my first official trip outside SA during this posting... all these times, I have been travelling within South Africa... so, was a bit excited to go out of the country....
anyway, onto this trip to Lesotho.... Left on 18 Oct... took us about 5 hours to drive to the border and enter the capital Maseru... left Pretoria at 7am, and got there at 12noon... Lesotho is not a very developed country, and is one of Africa's poorest countries... the infrastructure of the country is not very well-maintained, but its not entirely in super run-down condition... there wasnt really much to see in the city-centre... plus the fact that we were busy running around the whole time attending meetings.... So anyway, as we were there for official business, so I'll include some of those pics here... enjoy...
view from my hotel room.... Lesotho Sun....
church in Maseru
Being escorted by the outriders...was weird as the bikes used for the escort were dirt-bikes..
cant upload the rest of the pics now, cause there is something wrong with my computer... really weird... keeps uploading the wrong pics.....
anyway, u did not miss much....
