Going once.. Going Twice... Sold!!!

A Singaporean friend of mine, Primrose, held an auction at her house today to sell off her stuff as she and her Japanese husband were leaving South Africa as his posting had ended. He works as a journalist for a Japanese newspaper, and had been covering Africa for the past 3 years plus... he has also been to Iraq and Pakistan to cover news events there..... Well, Primrose is a really kind person who has a great fun-loving personality... she has been a great person to have known over here, and she has always been really helpful to the Office as well.... gonna miss her laughter.....

Anyway, she decided to hold this auction to raise money for a charity called the RoryPeck Trust (www.rorypecktrust.org), which offers discretionary grants to the families of freelance newsgatherers killed whilst on assignment. It also offers crisis support to freelancers who are unable to continue their work due to severe injury, disablement or imprisonment.

Bargaining.... hehe... not really... they were just very eager to get to the next item...

Anyway, we managed to raise over R5000 for the charity.... not bad for a day's work.....
