National Day (9 Aug 06)

The office held a function for overseas Singaporeans at the office on 9 Aug 06. It was good to see the Singaporean community gather together to celebrate our nation's 41st birthday. We managed to get some of the National Day Fun Packs for the Singaporeans here, and distributed it to them during the function.

The function began with the playing of the National Anthem, recitation of the National Pledge, and a short address by my High Commissioner. We proceeded to play games, which were kindly organised by Primrose and Linda (many many thanks to them!!). There was a variety of games, ranging from tug-of-war, dog and bone, racing with an egg on a spoon, and many others.

We also arranged for some food with a Singaporean flavour - Nasi Lemak, Mutton Curry, Vegetarian Mee Goreng, Malay Kueh, Bo Bo Cha Cha, etc.....

Overall, the event was well-attended, and I believe everyone had a very good time at the function... Here are some pics taken at the function:
