first sightseeing trip - Harbeespoortdam
ok... ok... i know i am late in putting up the pics I promised.... this is so far the only personal sightseeing trip i am been on since coming to South Africa..... managed to get my lazy ass out of bed one weekend, and went to visit this Dam, known as Harbeespoortdam, that is about 30-40mins drive away from Pretoria..... which for all you guys living in countries bigger than Singapore (i.e. everyone)... its not too far a drive away......
overall, it was a good trip... went with some Singaporeans working in South Africa..... was good to get away from the office... and enjoy the sights that South Africa has to offer....
here are some pics for your enjoyment....
here is the write-up on the dam.....
here is the view from the dam.... quite an awesome sight to behold as the sun sets.......

a pic of the dam with the mini version of the Arc de Triomphe... the dam is also just narrow enough to allow car traffic to pass through in one direction.... so, there is red-light/green-light system to tell drivers when they can drive across the dam..... hehe... well, I kinda parked my car "illegally" at one open space on the dam here to take the pics.... hehe...
the other side of the dam.... if you look to the right side, you will see some houses by the coastline...quite nice... they have sea sports such as skiing and canoing here as well...
of course, the obligatory photo here to show I was actually here......
so was my car..... hehe..... 0-100km/h in 7.0secs.... hehe... vroom vroom......
back to the scenary....
