life begins at 29?

heyho all,

just wanted to keep you all posted of my life in South Africa. I know... I know... its been 5 months u have been there.... where is the wine you promised? hehe... well.... I havent been able to pull myself away from the office as yet... but I will try to get out there... and bring back some good stuff, ok?

anyway, this being the first blog.... let me clue you guys and gals on some things..... am going to be here till Feb 09, working in Pretoria, South Africa. Finally got myself moved into a house (after staying 3 months plus in a hotel.... I am telling you... its no joke cooping yourself in a hotel room for 3 months....), and got myself a nice car (courtesy of my parents first... hehe.... thanks, mom and dad!.... wait ok... i am not sponging off them... I am paying them back....hehe....)

To just give a visual description of the above, here are some pics.....

dining room... had to "fight" with the landlord to get this table... original table was a super narrow rectangular table that was totally unsuitable for my purposes..... so finally got this table at about R1500 (which is about S$350)... chairs come separately....

Here is the guest room.... aka the room you guys and gals will be using when u visit.... yes... there is a tv, dvd player and sound system there... just to keep you guys and gals entertained....

here is the lounge room that is next to the dining room... still works in progress for this room... will wait for my parents to come first before deciding what to do with the layout for the room...




here is the pool.... havent had the opportunity to jump into yet... its still winter now... so, the water is freezing.....





here is the back of the house (which shows the maid's quarters.... no... i dont have a maid... i do my own washing, ironing, and cleaning....)
