trip to victoria falls

Caroline had not been to Victoria Falls before, so I took an extended weekend off to take her there to chill and see one of the natural wonders of the world... I think the pictures speak for themselves... enjoy...

Now boarding on Zambian Airways....

Caroline... shaking a bottle of apple juice...

Boarding passes..

On board the plane..

First view of the falls from the road.

Hotel room at Zambezi Sun.
Its really convenient here as there is unlimited access to the Falls when you stay here or at Royal Livingstone (but it costs a bomb to stay there).

Getting soaked..

Both of us... at the falls..

Rainbow shot.

No!!!!! incriminating shot!!
Fashion of Winter 08

At the Bridge linking Zambia to Zimbabwe

Nice hearty lunch after the visit to the Falls.

Being eaten by the hippo

The second day, we took a trip to experience jetboating... I had tried it before when I was a kid, and travelled with my parents in NZ... but Caroline had not tried it before, so we paid about US$180 for both of us, and was brought by the local company organising it, Jet Extreme (which was run by a NZ chap) to the nearby river.

We had to take a cable car ride down to the river.

The ride down.

Getting our safety vests on first.

Here we are... front left corner of the jetboat.

Scenes of the ride...
More jetboating scenes..

We headed back to the falls just before we departed back for South Africa..

being playful...
and posing in the raincoat provided by Zambezi Sun

Let me at it... grrr...
