Similar to last year, we held the official function at the Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria on 10 Aug (9 Aug is a public holiday in South Africa as well - Women's Day). We had about close to 300 guests attend the function, which was pretty good given that it was an opportunity for a long weekend for many South Africans if they had taken the Friday 10 Aug 07 off (hence, giving them Thursday to Sunday off)...
We spent the afternoon of the 9th (following the event for the Singaporeans at the office) at the hotel to set up the decorations.... and I think it came off quite well.... here are some pics taken at the event!

Eh, you should have started to sing national day songs on the podium. That would make you a bit hit, I'm sure. If you are a bit shy, a few drinks ought to steel your nerves;-)
Job well done ! But the party on 8th Aug was more fun... hint ! hint !
